Robbie Williams and Ayda Field are expecting second baby
Sources say the singer’s wife Ayda Field is expected to deliver the baby, believed to be a boy, in Los Angeles in the next few weeks.
Daughter Theodora “Teddy” Rose was born in Britain in September 2012. Turkish-born US actress Ayda, 35, travelled to the UK by private jet days before Teddy’s birth but is understood to have been less keen this time.
A friend of the couple said: “The baby will be born in California for definite.
“Ayda did live in the UK with Robbie for almost a year after Teddy’s birth but they’re based in LA now.
“Ayda prefers living there as her friends and family are close by and she has a good support network.
“She is proud of her American heritage having lived there since she was a baby and feels it is as important as Robbie’s British roots.
“The kids will have dual nationality because of their parents, so she doesn’t want to go all the way to the UK to give birth.
“Robbie gave in to Ayda without much persuasion. He feels if she’s the one going through the pregnancy and birth, the least he can do is agree to whatever she wants when it comes to the actual birth plan.”
Robbie, 40, has been touring the world most of this year with his Swings Both Ways show. But Ayda has spent much of her time in LA with Teddy after finding touring while pregnant tiring. She has been helped by her mum Gwen, who has lived with the couple since they wed at their Beverly Hills home in 2010.
While waiting to become a dad the first time, Robbie said he wanted their baby to have a British passport. He said: “I don’t want to educate our baby in LA because I would much prefer her to have English sensibilities.”
He was also quoted as saying: “They are idiots in LA schools. They are f***ing idiots. They are a breed of idiots that only exist in Los Angeles and she would be surrounded by them.”
But our source said: “Robbie did some tough talking about the US but he was just winding up his American friends and family. He’s just a patriotic Brit who wants the best for his kids.”
