Robbie fashion label Farrell in Selfridges
SELFRIDGES has become the first luxury department store to snap up Robbie Williams’ fashion label, Farrell. “Farrell has a very clear brand ethos in its focus on a heritage look, which is executed well,” said Selfridges‘ men’s contemporary buyer, Reece Crisp. “The inclusion of both casual and more tailored pieces make it a great lifestyle brand. Our contemporary menswear business is growing all the time and we’re always on the lookout for collections which offer something different – be that a well-known ambassador, an exclusive collaboration or an emerging label. Our British labels are performing incredibly well this season, Barbour being a great example, and we’re pleased to introduce Farrell which is very much in the same vein.”
The Take That star announced news of his fashion label in July last year, after he was inspired by the style of his late grandfather – Jack Farrell – who the brand was named after. In November 2011, Williams recruited former Burberry design director, Ben Dickens, as his head of design. For autumn/winter 2012-13, the line takes a military-inspired twist.
