Take That have unveiled the artwork for their first album as a five piece in fifteen years. The manband, who will release Progress on 22nd November, have stripped off for the album cover which shows the lads recreating the famous human evolution scene on a bright yellow background.
As well as getting naked for their new LP, The Flood singers have also revealed that they debated changing their name to The English to ‘rechristen’ their comeback as a five piece. Speaking to Q magazine, Robbie Williams and Co suggested that they proposed the change in name to enable them to record new material in order to create a new ‘electro-pop’ sound for Progress.
Williams explained: “I’m guessing that the initial idea of not being called Take That freed Gary up. Is it a brave record? Only if it fails.” Gary Barlow also added that if Robbie hadn’t returned to the band, he would have been bored making another TT album. Barlow claimed to the publication: “After those last two records the thought of the four of us just going in and doing another… it solved all that Rob coming back. It’s made it interesting,”
Meanwhile, love cheat Mark Owen also revealed that he is worried fans will think album track, What Do You Want For Me, is about his personal life after he cheated on his wife, Emma. Owen told the magazine: “It’s a song that’s always going to be related to a time in my life that was very difficult.” “The song was written before everything came about. It was written as an optimistic song and then, when everything happened, it took on a different connotation.” He added; “I have to keep reminding myself that it was written looking ahead at a future together.” (source: MTV UK website)
