Take That rule out Robbie Williams reunion

Take That

Take That have ruled out any possibility of Robbie Williams rejoining the band. Despite recent speculation and comments from their former band member that he may return to the four-piece, singer Gary Barlow has now confirmed that a reunion is unlikely. “People constantly ask if Robbie will rejoin us but nothing has changed,” Barlow told Radio 1 presenter Chris Moyles on his Quiz Night TV show. “We’re a happy band right now. Robbie won’t be joining.” The likelihood of a reunion initially seemed a strong possibility when Williams said on his blog back in December that “he’d loved to be in the band again”.

As previously reported on NME.COM, his manager Tim Clark said that he was considering rejoining Take That for their forthcoming London Wembley Stadium shows back in January. Barlow also previously said that it “was only a matter of time” before a reunion occurs. Williams walked out on the group in 1995 and the band split a year later. Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen launched a successful comeback in 2006. Williams is currently back in the studio recording his new solo album, which is due out in the autumn. Take That are also recording in another studio in the same building. (source: nme.com)

  • Thank goodness. As a fan, I can’t ever forget all those awful comments Robbie made about the rest of the band, and particularly Gary, who really had a tough time after the split – largely thanks to Robbie, who behaved dreadfully. Take That have managed to show that it is possible to come back better than before, and that you can enjoy success without having to be arrogant and downright nasty, like Robbie was when he was at the top.

Take That are back now, and as a foursome they are just amazing, and have found a quality they never had when it was the five of them. Robbie had his time in the sun, and now it’s the turn of Gary, Jason, Mark and Howard. They are just brilliant, and it’s sad that this subject can’t just be laid to rest now.

I hope Robbie can one day find happiness, fulfillment and success – but I hope to goodness he NEVER rejoins Take That. Four are definitely better than five. Sorry.
